Dear friends,

I am sharing the news that I have decided to move on from HFHP.

As part of the transition to a new host organisation - the Network of European Foundations, bringing the pooled fund and CSO movement building under one roof with clearer lines of accountability- a re-shaping of the HFHP Coordination Team is in order.  As a result, the co-leadership role of Fund Manager and Director/Chief Weaver (me) will change into one lead - currently being defined.

For me personally, it means my very deep and rewarding experience as a consultant weaving together people, organisations (both CSO and foundations),  ideas and campaigns, is coming to an end.  After close to 200 conversations with passionate people, organisations and funders, who like you are working on the critical food system change in Europe, I believe the honeycombs of the Hive have been crafted in terms of holacratic (self-organising) governance, transformational learning, amplification approach, movement building and participatory grant-making in service of it. These form an important foundation in order for HFHP to shine and the modest funds to grow - very critical to accelerate the transition to healthy, just and sustainable food environments.

Until the end of June, I will be working with the team and other stakeholders to ensure that the Transformational Learning Framework is completed, the (un)learning of the way HFHP has been conceptualised is documented, and to make sure that the four weavers embedded in national coalitions in Germany, France, Netherlands and the UK are set up for success.  For all information relating to grant-making, communications and movement building please liaise with the other team members Giulia Lagana and Diana Ugalde, who will continue in their roles.

Thank you so much for joining me on this journey and sharing your knowledge, learnings and vulnerabilities so generously. More than ever, I believe a changing food system has the potential to bridge the growing divide, with humility, creativity, humour, authenticity and collaboration as the key ingredients.

If you have any questions (or know of new roles) please reach out as I will be around until the end of June, albeit with significantly reduced hours.

With gratitude,

Marinke

PS. You know I love having fun, being creative and throwing a good party especially since system change is such challenging work. So here is my favourite new quote “If you want to change the world, throw a better party.” (Susan Davies, network weaver).
